Something Different

(Finally a break from the baby.)
So these are some flowers growing right now in my yard, they are Aster and sure are pretty.

I have a girl Maricela, who works for me that is getting married in two weeks (she is terrified for everything). She is as innocent as they come. She wanted some tasteful lingerie for her shower. You don't ask for modest stuff and expect to get it at a shower. So her true friends decked her out in the most embarrassing stuff possible. There were more pictures and activities, but I will only include the one. Killer Bra!

Stankin Cute!

We don't need to explain this, it's just cute.

Grandparents are cool

Well me and Curtis have been getting more visits from these 4 people, we realized however that they aren't coming to visit us. They have come to visit their grandson. The grandparents on both sides have been looking for any reason to pop in for a few minutes and be on their way. Not much is being said, they are just getting their baby fix. What kid is lucky enough to get a pair of grandparents that both live close by and they both do such a good job at it? (I love the picture of Lorraine with Dexter, she calls him her fishing partner.) They can't stay away. Babysitters Anyone?

Baby Days

Not much going on here, except a baby. Oh and our house is cleaner because we have a housewife at home. Things are going good, we've had some split pea soup diapers, baby farts do stink, and we still can't figure out how to keep everything in the diapers. We were quite proud of ourselves because last night he slept in the same PJ's the whole entire night. Having a baby is so much fun-We love it! Plus he is the cutest thing ever, of course every parent says that.

Good Fortune

We have a nubbin-a real belly button. (Basically his gross little raisin fell out of his belly button.) In Navajo tradition, you take the dried up raisin and wish for good fortune. You could tie it to a horse's tail so he will be a good horseman or bury it in the ground for good crops. So we took it to the bank, so our child will be quite fortunate. (The other picture is just cute. He peed on the bed right after I took this picture.) Now the next milestone in Navajo is his first laugh or smile-usually it comes at 3 months. Whoever gets him to laugh first has to throw a dinner for him and then everyone brings gifts. Apparently it is a huge deal down south. So don't make him laugh anytime soon.


We really didn't go to the bank, but that is what we aimed for, it just got thrown away in his diaper.

Mission Call

So something different happened other than Dexter. Today my baby brother David, got his mission call. He had to wait until 6:30 to open it (we had to wait for everyone to be there, the mailman even called my mom and offered to bring it by early on his lunch break). His hands were shaking and he kept trying to peek. So David is going to the Oaxaca, Mexico mission, spanish speaking and he leaves December 26th. (That is his girlfriend Sage.) So yeah for Davey.

Thinker Already

Our child is so smart and advanced already. He has already began thinking. I am sure he is thinking about his mission, what he will be when he grows up and which temple he will be married in. He really is getting a head start.

Diaper Changin

We have perfected the burp. (Curtis learned he only needs 3 fingers instead of his huge there-there hands). Now if we could only perfect the diaper. I don't know how he does it but, he can pee anywhere but his diaper. We are changing blankets and clothes just as much as diapers. I think the problem may be the changer and the changee. I just wanted to show off Pat's quilt, don't worry it is broken in. Also it use to be that the most important thing in our house was mountain dew, now it is bottles. Welcome to our transformation. Hospital Picture

Pat and Carl said they looked through all the other baby pictures from other people and they thought it over and made a fair decision that he was the cutest baby. So we are going by Pat and Carl's research.

Home at last

We are all at home and adjusting to our new schedules. So far so good. Dexter looking more and more normal, like a baby should. Carson is a good cousin, they played this little piggy and took their temperatures together. Curtis is becoming quite the dad, which is weird to refer to him as a dad. But he has got it down, although he can't get him to burp yet. Diapers and pee on the wall, no problem! (Carrie said to keep the pictures coming: no house projects or work, so pictures it is)

Dexter-Day 2

Day 2 is always better than 1. He doesn't look like he just came out.

20 inches long
He was the biggest baby in the nursery!

He is a little darker and getting darker, He is a quarter navajo. We only need three more babies to make a full indian.
We think most of his weight is in his cheeks, we got some droopers and some big chubs. We think there is a Curtis-no chin in there as well.

Dexter Glenn Clark

Birthday Day was crazy and long, they say a picture says a thousand words. These are all from day 1. Long and tiring. Induction took 11 hours, then we had to stall an hour, and labor took 20 minutes-4 pushes and we had a family. We both cried, Dexter was awake for the first couple of hours, he has got big eyes and some nice cheeks. (I always use to hate my cheeks, but I think they finally came in handy.)

It is time!

Induction is finally here. Due Date is September 6th and he is coming September 6th. We go in 6:00 am Wednesday. I am sure we will both be sleeping soundly tonight.

For your entertainment

Here is a huge update for now. We are hoping to have a baby this week and this will tie the blog over for now. We have been very busy this summer. Last year when we first bought our house, we demolished it into tiny pieces. It is only until now that we are putting those pieces together and it is coming together. When you don't know what you are doing it takes a little longer and the money runs out as well. But things seem to have come together perfectly for us at the right time. Our yard and home are finally put back together and we are about to put our family together as well. So we have done a lot of changing and growing in one year and it has been the best so far for us. They say it only gets better and we will soon come to realize that. So enjoy our journey.

It doesn't get much bigger (I mean better) than this!

I didn't really think that I could have grown so much since the Seattle trip, and I would see ladies as big as this and would think there is no way that I could get that big. Well I did! Carson asked me why I was wearing my red shirt again, I told him because its the only one that fits.

Well its Labor Day and not the Labor day we were hoping for. There is an end in sight and we are hoping it is tomarrow or Wedsnesday. We meet with the doctor again, He decides our fate for another week. So hopefully this child is ready to come and greet us. You would think he would want to come because we are so fun to be around. We are really hoping this is it, due date is Weds. (So if you don't get another update for awhile that means we are going to get our first child. Otherwise we will fill your minds with doggy updates.)

Hi Shandy!

(I stole Carrie's child for this.) Parker, when he always sees me, say Hiiii Shandy and will continue to say it throughout the day. He never does acknowledge Curtis.

That's OK because when my dad sees us he is so excited to see Curtis and always acknowledges Curtis, that I have to point out that I am there also. So I guess it goes both ways on the family wheel.

Hallway and Bathroom Check

We finished painting all of the upstair hallways. This is our tie in color from all the many colors in our house. It reminds me of a Wendy's frosty. We also repainted the cupboards in the bathroom.

Texturing Fools

I felt left out of the whole texturing, so I textured the downstairs hall and got it painted. I think Curtis liked my work a little better than his. I think they both turned out nice. We are all considered equal in marriage and texturing.

Fence and Ceiling by Carl and Curtis

Carl and Curtis are handy with tools and brains. Curtis installed this fence on the side of the house from a friends leftover fence. He used posts, shovels, cement and sweat. Carl textured our ceiling with a toilet plunger and we just got it painted. Finished pieces are becoming finished projects around here.

Outdoor Growth

Our yard is coming together slowly and nicely. Here is our daisy garden which looked pretty shabby in the spring and our herb garden is getting perfected. In the next couple years it should be the envy of someone.
