One year older and wiser too-

So I had a birthday and celebrated it over 3 days. Curtis and I never have the same days or time off. So we spread it out over days. We did some eating, errands, family time and just had a grand old time. Over the past few days I learned that Dexter likes lemons, Cody is back on the saddle again, families are fun, husbands are great, the Jazz are more important than family (aka-Jarom) and XBOX is still the coolest thing ever.
(P.S. Mike got me the greatest gift ever, a wireless modem for the Xbox. I guess for my birthday I do want Curtis to be happy. As long as Kim is in agreeance with this as well.)

Meet Jane!

So we upgraded our Liberty for another Liberty. She sure is pretty. That color would be pewter, we call it GIJane. (every car I've had gets a name-she is Jane) It is a well thought out impulse/upgrade buy. Now we get to accesorize it. Maybe Curtis will get my bug guard on, I give him two weeks until I ask Cody for a favor.

I have a feeling......

Since the acquizition of the XBOX, we have had some regulars arriving at our house. Namely, Jarom, Cody and Andrew. Here is Jarom and Curtis watching the Jazz game; don't watch games with Jarom because he is an analyzer and a very serious fan. He felt that if he changed the channel while the other team shot their free throws they would miss. At the end of the game it was close and Jarom and Curtis had a feeling, I think they were one with the Jazz. They felt the Jazz were gonna pull it off. Well they didn't-so much for spiritually.

Dude, Shandy is so cool, "she let me buy an XBOX"

The title of this, is only to make fun of Cody.
Yes it is true we are proud owners of an XBOX. Curtis has been good and patiently waiting long enough. So this was our valentines, I think it has to be true love. (I got a bird bath. We never take pictures of us anymore, so this is the latest and greatest of us watching a movie.) So if you call Curtis and he says he is listening just ask him if he is holding a controller and will tell you no, which is true because it only means he just set it down. The best part is that I may get to play my fun game of hiding the controllers. Its Cody and Curtis' favorite game.

Oh my Gosh-I am 5 months old!!!

Dexter hit his 5 month mark; he sits, he grunts and has laughed. (We will be having a shin-dig for his first laugh, Curtis was that got him to laugh-so he gets to plan it)
Curtis story: Curtis calls me at work (8:30am) panicked because Lorraine was suppose to show up at 8am, and he has got to be at work. I tried calling her and she finally shows up. It had turned out that she did arrive right at 8am but Curtis was fast asleep, so Lorraine went to the store to get herself a Pepsi and allow my panicky husband more time to wake up. She says she always gets a kick out of some of the stuff Curtis does.

I am going across the plains and taking with me...

My mother, a dateless brother and a white baby indian. So we ventured out into the desert to the Reservation. (that is in Arizona, not some shopping you do) So bear with me and the long update of my trip. (8 updates) It was fun and always good to go back. The reservation makes you grateful for what you do have and its good to go back to see and hear of what goes on down there. Like my Uncle Brian is getting married and they were having a custom meeting the morning we left to go over the traditional marriage. The daughters parents are requesting a cow, some jewlery and $500. (Wilbur joked you could ask for less) I thought that was interesting. So here is our trip, our Indian family and the desert.

Tuckered out

Meet Malachi, he got tired at the basketball game. He is only 4 years old. At the end of one game, it was quite intense and we went ahead in the last 30 seconds, everyone was going crazy. He turned to a white kid and said hug me brother. He was so excited.

Pink Warrior

Dexter got to meet his Navajo relatives, when Dexter was first born my messani was so excited because it was her first grandson (she has many grandchildren, but everything is passed down through the first daughter which makes Dexter the first grandson) Dexter met all his uncles, I wish I had taken pictures of the actual meeting because it was hilarious. They would all grab him and start talking, he would slowly pout and then cry. By the last day we was use to the sudden switches. The first night we was passed around 10 times in about 10 minutes. He started crying and Wilbur said its OK we are all Brown like your grandma. He got many nicknames, the first real name is his Indian name (I don't have the navajo term) he is a pink warrior, that name was given to him when they saw his first picture. They called him white cloud, kept calling him che, little che, big che, they told him he isn't white he is navajo. He was in his diaper and they called him a skinwalker. He was told he needed to drink goats milk, we just have to strain it about 4 times. It was funny seeing him with everyone.

Dexter's first Rez

Here are some randoms pictures of our trip. We went to jackrabbit road and got Dexter some moccasins, went into the poppin city of Winslow Arizona and walked around La Posada Hotel. Dexter did amazing on the trip.

Pey-Pey

This a some peyote, it was just in my grandma's freezer. I am sure it is only used for medicinal reasons. Right?

It does need a really big bong.

Pickles

This one is for Curtis, the one time he came down to the reservation, all he remembers is pickles. So we are always giving him pickles as gag gifts. We once went to watch a basketball tournament and they sell pickles at basketball games, why? There were a bunch of kids that had bought 10 pickles, one for each finger and hollowed them out and wore them the entire game. They would take the pickles off and their fingers were green and there was pickle smell in the air. So at Malcolms basketball game they were selling pickles at the concession stand and that lovely smell was in the air.

Sparse it is!

Snow on the reservation doesn't happen, so it was quite exciting and fun to drive through. It makes all the dirt roads alot easier to drive. There is also a picture of my dad's old truck. He still doesn't get why we got rid of it, I mean it just sat in my driveway for storage. So my mom drove it down to the reservation. It got some good use, Cookie has been learning how to drive on that truck, he did so good he burned out the clutch.

There are rez dogs everywhere, they are the watch dogs who just basically watch. You never know the breed of the dog, its just rez.

Nephews

So the real reason we went down to the reservation was to watch Malcolms last high school home basketball game. Marc and Malcolm are twins but they don't look anything alike, one is tiny and the other is the biggest kid you will ever meet. They live in a little town called Joseph City and they are quite big in their little school. I also took some pictures for their graduation announcements, they have been stressing out on how to get their announcements, but it is too expensive. So we are making them some announcements like Dexters baby ones. I took pictures of the boys and a baby one to embarrass them. Marc will be playing football somewhere, he is just trying to decide which school he wants to go to, he got letters from about 30 schools for him to come play. They will both be going on missions sometime next May. They love there aunt Lorraine and they call her aunty.

Potty Break!!

So my grandma doesn't have any plumbing out at her house, it is just cold kicking it outhouse style. It was cold, I have never seen snow there. Me and my mom did our late night run to the potty. Here are pictures of our experience. I think it is funny that they shoveled a pathway to the outhouse, it is just dirt and snow. Here is also another picture of my mom going solo to the potty.
