Dexter's guilty pleasure

Dexter loves his CARS.
Here he is watching cars, on his cars blanket
with his new almost hideous amazing cars shoes.
He was so proud of his shoes that everytime
I asked for a smile he showed off his shoes.

Dexter finally got a new haircut.
Thanks to Brian for cutting it while Curtis held him down.

Randoms

January has gone and we didn't do much for it.
These were the only pictures I took this month. Dexter asleep in his nap chair. There really is a person under there

CUTE!
My stubborn can do it all child doesn't need help learning how to got potty.
He just tells us go and spends an hour in the bathroom trying to figure it out.
We will take our time trying to conquer this feat.
He shut the door on me and I was able to peek in a get a shot.

Pancakes

Josiah hates hates hates pancackes. He says their dumb. For Christmas in his stocking we got him pancake mix. Ha-ha not very funny. Sunday Josiah was coming to the cousins breakfast themed dinner. He had to bring something, so he whipped out his hated despised pancake mix and make pancakes. (my waffle iron just broke to) Josiah made pancakes and was proud of his culinary skills that he even ate one happily.

One Month Shy

It happened just one month shy. Sunday I was looking in the mirror and there it was staring back at me. A tiny little 2 inch strand of gray hair, shining so bright for me not to miss it. There it was the first sign of aging in my life. I plucked that thing so fast and ran into a room of people. I shreiked I have a gray hair. My dear sweet gray haired gene through sickness and health husband looked at me and said don't come to me for comfort. Shocked, I turned to someone anyone. Of course my brothers are laughing and than the comfort came. My father said, "look at your mother". I looked at my 51 year old mother (who we happened to be celebrating her birthday that night). He said look at her hair, I looked at her long black hair with hints of gray. I think you'll be okay. Phew! But dang it! I was asking for this one with me joking that I must make it to 30 without any gray hair. Nope! Jinxxes!

Stitching 101-5 stitches

Dexter got his first big good accident.
Trying to show off his fancy slides that he does, he crashed into the entertainment center perfectly finding the edge and the corner of his right eye.
Instant rush-gush, panic, off to the emergency room we go at 11:30pm
45 minutes later we are home with 5 stitches, a bruised eye and a happy boy. Those 45 minutes were quite intense.
Curtis was so great and stayed with Dexter during the whole process,
I ran and waited in the waiting room until
I heard the screaming and ran outside until it was over.
Funny part while he was getting his stitches, he calls Curtis HI not dad??? He couldn't see Curtis and one point because he was holding his feet and Dexter starts yelling HI, HI, HI, the doctor was like I know its hot and Curtis said no, he is saying Dad. While they were waiting in between the numbing and stitches, Curtis and Dexter said a prayer while rubbing his cheek and he instantly calmed down.
When it was all done, Dexter was happy to find me and walked himself out the hospital doors and on the way home was happy as could be, pointing to his eye saying "OWW"

A snowy walk

Dexter and I went on a snowy walk around the block. Bundled up with his cute penguin hat

Anniversary

It is our 6 year anniversary. It has flown, and been fun; great and we like us.
Funny how their is no picture of us for this.
We headed up to Ogden to take in some fun museums and we brought our child along with us.
It was nice to get out of Orem and nice to have some real family time.

Devil's slide up Ogden canyon

Trains

We went to the Union Pacific Railroad in Ogden.

Braxton and Dexter

During the holidays I sometimes get to watch Braxton.
These 2 have had so much the past couple days.
We made some cookies today. Big hit! Licking the spoons
OOPS! Dexter turned the mixer on a little high at the flour part.

The pre cookie set up

Christmas was great and crazy and fast.
Lots of people: 13 total:
Samson and Josiah cousin Lybberts, Brady and wife Jen, Kimball, Jarom, Craig and Lorraine, Curtis, Dexter and Shandy and a late addition of Brian Harker our tenant who is family.
Lots of boys, 10 boys and 3 girls. The boys were on their best behavior they could possibly be. Curtis and Samson
Josiah is his soccer getup
Our garbage- Everyone got a garbage bag in their stocking from Santa.
My pretty Christmas dinner spread,
That Jarom moaned and groaned about because it was fancier than he is.
Don't worry he unfancied it with his dinner topic of discussion.
JOBU sums it all up nicely.

Dexter did great with Christmas, very excited and figured out that if he opened presents there was a toy. So cute!

The boy still loves his CARS
Cheese!

The Clark, Lybbert, Harker Christmas Set Up! 11 seats and 2 on the floor. Quite cozy.
