More yard work

It is out with the ugly old man rocks and in with some retaining wall, the ground is semi ready for us. We just got to find the time to put it all together.

However did they build houses in the olden days?

So this isn't our house, but this is what we see every day. Crazy!

Stupid Pockets

When Curtis and I were walking up to the temple, Curtis looked quite handsome in his suit. He said that this suit might be a little cheap because the pockets don't work. They didn't put pockets in his suit. I instantly started laughing and told him he has to unpick it, that is how they do it. So for over a year Curtis hasn't had pockets. I guess I should have been a better wife and paid more attention. I told my mom this and she said Jarom came back from his mission with a pair of pants still with the pockets not unpicked. So to all you boys out there most pants and suits have pockets; you just got to unpick them.

WEJO

We went on vacation, finally----we went to West Jordan for the weekend. We are crazy, but where else can you go and someone else can watch Dexter while you actually go do something as a married couple. We relaxed all weekend and didn't have to look at all the unfinished projects. We went to a movie/dinner with Sam and Carrie, we did a temple session and watched Dexter and Pat have many bonding moments. Dexter even let us sleep in. And of course we really didn't take any pictures......except the ones to follow.

Shhhhh!!! Don't tell Carl

Plus I think Richard will like this blog. Dexter was happily playing with fingernail polish, I was cutting Curtis' hair and Pat was watching Dexter. All the sudden we hear Pat yelling at Curtis to come, Curtis walks in to red everywhere (he thought it was blood), that is the first thing Pat says is it is not blood. It just had to be the red finger nail polish-not the clear or creme or any other lightly shaded polish. Curtis takes Dexter to the tub, and plops him in fully clothed. Pat and I work as quickly as we can to get the polish out of the rug and carpet. Tools needed: 1. Nail polish remover 2. windex, 3. Grease lightning, 4. Rug doctor stain remover 5. water, don't forget the many many many towels, paper towels and muscles. After about a 1/2 hour we had every bit of polish out. We did good work. Meanwhile while we are cleaning we hear Curtis laughing.......at the situation, no Dexter couldn't pick up the bar of soap it kept falling out of his hands, so he cornered it into his crotch. So all this happened while Carl was out of town. So please don't tell Carl, plus he will get to prove a point that he does not like that rug where it is. But the rug is safe and sound and looks better than ever. Carl always said many hands make light work. True That!!!

Sticks and Stones

Curtis removed all the rocks (more like boulders-40) out of our yard. We want to put up a retaining wall. That will clean it up alot. He should be mighty buff now but probably just really sore. You know we do what we can around here.

I painted the remaining doors orange. Pretty!

Oh no he didn't

Curtis, fun loving Curtis. About 2:30 am, I had just gotten up with Dexter, (Curtis of course said he would be getting them all-he was real tired though) I had said a few random things. Curtis is awake full responding. I asked him if he knows what I am saying, Of course he does. I asked him what I said, he starts apoligizing and said that he was just trying to finish his playlist. I said what, he said he was just trying to put everything in boxes. I asked if he knew what he saying, he said yes; but didn't want to tell me because.......it makes sense to him but won't make sense to me-he was very hesitant to explain-but kept repeating that. I told him he sounds like Carson now. (totally based on Sunday) Curtis is back asleep, very soundly. I asked Curtis this morning if he knew anything of what happened last night and he said yes-we were talking about the IKEA table that we were looking at last night in the catalog. Playlist, boxes, not understanding to tables. I can't figure it out and Curtis still doesn't know what was said.

1 down 1000..................to go

We got another project slightly finished, thanks to Craig and not our ability. Craig came and finished the trim and finish work around our front door. Now........someday..........paint, caulk and a new doorknob.................

For Carl

This was done in only a couple hours. I thought Carl would enjoy the update and seeing the long crane.

Not Much

Not much really goes on here except Dexter and that is all there is to report. We go to work and soon Curty will be off to school again. They just grow up so fast, I swear I was just dating Curtis and now he is a dad, a young college boy and full time employed. Where did the time go? Oh and Dexter is about to one. Being pregnant for 10 months was the longest period of my life, but I really don't know where this past year went. So for now this is it, until we decide do go out and do something, or finish a project or take a picture of anything other than Dexter.

Carl Watching

There is bird watching and than there is Carl watching. Everytime Carl comes down, he says he wouldn't get anything done because all he would do is watch all these houses go up. There are 7 houses going in right now. Quickly. Our view is going away while our property value is going up quite nicely.

Grrrrrrrr! Baby

Dexter does this loud growling thing, he just growls all day. Which goes perfectly with the cookie monster do. He loves looking out the window now and he has found someone to talk to out there.

BIG

Dexter has graduated to a bigger carseat. He loves it. He also loves Grandma Lybbert's house. So much fun!

Orange you glad I said........

We didn't like the burgandy color on our doors. (waste of a gallon of paint) We decided to go with autumn rustic instead. Plus no one has an orange door they all have red, green or burgundy. We have a vision someday of what the exterior will look like and this color will look better when that vision becomes reality in about 27 some odd years down the road of time.

HEY

We think Dexter's first word is Hey. He has always said mamama and dadadadada now, but he just added HEY!!! You will walk in the room and he looks up and yells HEY. Or he will be playing with his toys and look up at you and give you a big HEY! So HEY it is.

Big Bath Time

Dexter no longer uses his little tubbers, its onto the big one. The only problem is he loves to stand up.

Borders

We finished the edging along the front yard and we are filling it in with ornamental grass that we transplanted.
That is our shaggy grass, our lawn mower broke, apparently oil is needed.

If they won't let us through the front door.......

Than we'll go through the side.

(that is an eminem song talking about going to the clubs, our house is like a party sometimes) This is the entrance to our front door right now. Craig put in the front door and we haven't gotten to cleaning up the mess.
