Peel and Stick

We redid the floors downstairs in the kitchen and laundry room. It is just like a paint by numbers, you peel it and stick it down. The funnest part is making all the nice little cuts which is Curtis' job. We love it, we are ready to kick out our renters so we can enjoy our floors. (but we won't)

Birthday for Lorraine

Lorraine had a birthday, she is one year shy of 50. We all went out to dinner, had cake. We drove a hour north for dinner, (greenery) why-we don't really know, but it was fun. We found a hat for Dexter at one of the shops.

Wood and Nails

We bought our house from a man who loved wood and nails. If he had them, he used them, so we have had the luxury of taking out many shelves, closets and walls. It has been quite a puzzle. Our laundry room is getting a facelift. So we took out the wall to ceiling shelves to have an empty room. We still have not ran out of stuff to do-one day we will get there with this house.

CPK-all the way!!!

Just this last week I got a fancy little package at work- There was a pin and a certificate for my employment of 5 years. I was shocked that it has been 5 years since I started working there. Who would have ever thought that a simple serving job would amount to so much. I definately know that I won't ever work anywhere else and love my job. So yeah for blessings in disguise and pizza.

4 Months Old

Dexter is 4 months old. We just went to our 4 month checkup and believe it he is actually losing weight. He clocked in at a chubby 18 pounds and 26 inches tall. Apparently he grew in height which made him lose weight in baby world. (The doctor said he still could have green or brown eyes-but he changes his mind everytime.) He is a healthy boy, he got his shots and oh that put in for a bad day.

A door!

So if you come to our house and ring the doorbell, we never know which door to answer, the front or the side. (Most people just walk in) We have always said we wanted a door with glass so we could see out of it. Well Curts has found some mighty fine deals at Lowes-here is our latest score. A $700 returned door bought by the Clarks for $100. A deal, I think so!

Yeah I am married again!

So when you have a child in the summer you reap all the fun benefits-like swelling. Today I got my wedding ring back from getting resized, it was enlarged. It has been a whole year since I have been able to wear my ring. (My fingers never returned to their normal size)

For Me-again

So I needed some new pictures to pull up of Dexter for my work, so you all get to suffer along with everyone else I work with. (the last picture looks just like his dad)

OH B-rad

Brady just sent us this picture in the mail, doesn't he clean up really nice. (He has lost so much weight, he met someone in the mission who gained a lot of weight so they just traded all the white shirts they had.) He seems to still have his Brady sense of humor, laugh until he cries and his cheeks are hurting.

In the Wee Hour of the night, he sleeps again

Pop Quiz: What is this blow dryer used for?
a) to dry your hair
b) a heater
c) a device used to calm your baby
d) one of Curtis' crazy sleep experiences
Answers both C and D
Oh but there is a story behind it, and it stars my sweet sleeping crazy husband. The other night we went to bed at 2am with a fussy child. I had to be up at 6 am for work. So Dexter starts crying at about 3am. Curtis rolls over reaches for the blow dryer, turns it on and says there you go and goes back to sleep. We didn't see Curtis again until 9am and basically-I got 2 hours of sleep. There is a quick resolution for everything and a I don't remember that happening. (again) Stay tuned for the next insomniac episode, of course it will be starring Curtis.

The days are getting easier as he gets older.

Oh how the years have gone by

Curtis and I have been married for 4 years now. I found one of the first pictures taken of us about 6 years ago. (its a picture taken of a picture-Cody is in our picture, and yes everyone does need a Cody) We like to think this is what we look like or at least this is the way we picture ourselves. I guess we were a lot younger than. Our marriage has been really good and it is completely magical. Magical means tripping over your spouse shoes, or vacuuming up bobby pins, or learning that all the bad habits your brothers have, your husband has also. I always say that you have a good marriage if you gain weight, because you would rather hang out with each other instead of working out. Curtis and I have grown up quite a bit, the best part is that we have done it together. We have gotten so much and have been so happy. We got a home, some grown up jobs and a family. But the best part is we have a best friend, it has been a good happy marriage.

Hang time

I came home from work and found my dad doing his special trick with Dexter. He got Dexter to stand up in his hands.
