1st Laugh

August 1st, Exactly 3 months old. Lucy hit her 1st accomplishment. She laughed! This a Navajo tradition. The person who gets her to have her 1st laugh has to throw her a party. Lorraine did the dirty work and had to throw a party. Other Navajo thing, is the dried up belly button. When the nubbin finally falls off you are supposed to put it somewhere where you want them to succeed. Like if you want them to be a good horsemen you tie the nubbin on a horse' tail. We took Lucy's nubbin and threw it out in a soap box, so she will stay clean throughout her life.
Other ideas we had was to tie it to a kite string so maybe she would reach high but than we thought that could back fire and she would be as high as a kite. Or we thought of throwing it on temple grounds, but than that's kind of like a drive by. Soap box it was.

Nose Hairs

Jen is quite the trooper sister in law. Putting up with constant boy companionship and waxing all of their nose hairs. A great Sunday evening and bonding.

Sunday Cute

Dex

This kid is the funniest thing I have ever met. This kid has got some crazy personality. I have never met a kid quite like him, he completely reminds me of a boy that we use to steal from his family from 6 months old to 3 yrs. JT Rammell was our little bud, and Dexter reminds me of him so much. That was about 16 years ago and man I am getting old to put it into that perspective.

1st Attempt

Lucy's 1st attempt at Craigy's trick. Standing on his hand. I asked Craig if he is bothered by us calling him Craigy, he said no, so we are good to keep on Craigy-ing it.

More Cute

Leggings

I am in love with baby leggings, so cute and cozy. Lorraine thinks it makes Lucy look like a piece of candy.

Back fired gesture

This bruise was on my forearm. This picture does not do the justice of the nasty bruise I experienced. I was at the park with the kiddos. Some poor kid wanted to ride the swings. The last swing available was spun around the top of the pole. Being the nice mom that I am tried to help the kid get the swing. I pushed the swing once around the top, and than had to do it another time. This time it had picked up speed and was going to hit the kid who was waiting for his swing right in the face. I reached my hands out to catch the falling swing, parents were cheering me on for being so nice. I missed catching it with my hands and caught it with my forearm. Oh instant pain, huge instant bruise and huge bump. All for helping a little kid.

Pioneer Day

We had a cousins dinner and fireworks at our house for Pioneer Day.Dexter the gangster pioneer. We had a pioneer trek for primary and the hankerchief ended up on Dexter's head. I love being in primary with Dex. I am able to see him grow and ask the best questions. One day he asked me where the holy ghost was. He kept pointing to every adult asking if that was him. He asked if he came and if we saw him at church. So cute. A couple weeks ago Dexter volunteered to say the prayer and he just jumped right up there and did it.

Sloan and Lucy, 2 weeks apart in age.
Thank goodness the Oram family is supplying some girl cousins for Lucy.
Cause the Lybberts sure ain't.

The trendy gawdy flowers.

I can still swaddle this kid, anything to keep him from growing up. He still is my little baby boy even though he always says remember Lucy came.

Farm Animals

We went to Thanksgiving point to see the farm animals. Dexter had fun and man he is getting huge. I am not okay with that.
